Day 1: Pick Your Hired Vehicle at the Airport or Kigali
After your early morning breakfast, embark on the transfer from Kigali to Ruhengeri. On your arrival check in the lodge of choice from the listed options
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After your breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters at Kinigi for briefing after which you start tracking gorillas in the Volcanoes National Park at 8.30 am. Searching for gorillas may take you 2 – 6 hours to encounter the mountain gorillas and once found you will be allowed to view, interact and photograph the gorillas for only 1 hour. Stay at your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Rwanda – Uganda safari
After your early morning breakfast, drive to Uganda through the Kigezi Highlands commonly referred to the “Switzerland of Africa” to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park. After resting and having lunch take a community walk to the animist native Pygmies (the Batwa) people whose cultural performances will freshen and usher you in a great deal of excitement even before you see gorillas.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Go for a briefing at the park headquarters at Buhoma after your breakfast, this is done before tracking the gorillas at 8.30 am. You may take between 2 – 6 hours to encounter the gorillas in the jungle ranges depending on their movement. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi is the highlight of a Uganda tour. This wildlife safari experience is incomparable to none ensure.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
After your early morning breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo national park with lunch en route in Mbarara town. When you reach start with an afternoon game drive along the lakeshore track, given its own system of game trails and cleared walkways, the “Kigambara Loop” offers exciting guided lakeside walks. On this walk you shall see Cape buffalo, herds of zebra, and eland, topi plus oribis. If you are bird watchers you may have more than 250 bird species to enjoy including the Carruther’s Cisticolas, Papyrus Gonoleks, the extraordinary White-winged Warbler, Bare-Faced Go-away bird and brown-faced Lapwings.
Day 6: Game Drive in Lake Mburo National Park
In the morning after breakfast, follow the eastern hinterland of Lake Mburo with its network of game tracks along with a variety of savanna animals and birds. Connect to the Ruroko Track that passes rock kopjes that are home to the elusive klipspringer. Continue to Lyantonde for your onward transfer to Kampala, you will make a stop-over at the Equator for handicrafts, photography and informative talk.
Day 7: Kampala City Safari
After your breakfast, have a Kampala city tour and reach out to her famous place such as the Kasubi tombs, Buganda Kabaka’s(king’s) Palace, Kabaka’s lake, Iteso cultural dance near Kasubi, Namugongo matyres shrine, Uganda Museum, Makerere University, the famous Bahai temple, Namirembe and Rubaga gothic cathedral, Gadafi & Kibuli mosques, craft shops such as Buganda road and National theatre. This tour will give you a true insight of kampala and Uganda at large given the great history attached to the places you will visit.
